map: map of the manor of renselaerwick, surveyed and laid down... jno. r. bleeker, surveyor - 1767
Originally drawn by David Vaughn in 1860, these unusual maps are useful for tracing mid-Hudson families in the 18th century. Compiled from original surveys, these reprints show locations of many families settled on or owning land in these areas. Essentially a survey, this map of the manor, which includes modern-day Albany and Rensselaer Counties, locates important creeks and roads, as well as several hundred settlers houses.
